About Me

I am currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Memorial University of Newfoundland (MUN), Canada. Supervised and co-supervised by Prof. Octavia Dobre and Prof. Trung Duong, respectively, my Ph.D. research focuses on quantum-enhanced communications. I did my master’s in electrical engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IITM) and worked on quantum-secured communications under the supervision of Prof. Deepa Venkitesh. I hold two bachelor’s degrees in electrical engineering and physics from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), Saudi Arabia.

After finishing my bachelor’s degrees, I worked in the research and development (R&D) department of the National Company of Telecommunications and Information Security (NTIS), Saudi Arabia. Most projects I was involved in were related to optical and wireless communications systems.

I also worked as an independent researcher in the Materials Computation, Theory, and Design (MCTD) Group, led by Prof. Fahhad Alharbi, working in materials informatics. I did two summer internships at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), Saudi Arabia. One was in the Computational Physics and Material Science (CPMS) Group under the supervision of Prof. Udo Schwingenschlögl and involved material simulation. For the other one, I worked on spintronics systems in the Integrated Circuits and Systems (ICS) Group, which Prof. Hossein Fariborzi supervised.
